Adventure Trips to Add to Your Summer Travel Itinerary

If you’re ready for an exciting travel experience and don’t want to head to yet another resort or tourist trap for your getaway, plan an adventure trip you’ll never forget. Every once in a while it’s a good idea to go for the ‘wow’ factor with that excursion and do something that you’ve never been bold or daring enough to do. Whether you want to go on a cruise or just spend a few days trekking through the rainforest, there’s an adventure waiting for you.

Here are some adventure trips to add to your summer travel itinerary:

Ride the Curasub in the Caribbean

Take yourself on an undersea adventure in the Caribbean on board the Curasub at Substation Curacaco. This five-person mini-submarine will take you 1,000 feet below the Caribbean Sea for an underwater experience you’ll never forget. It’s a great way to explore the beautiful waters without getting wet, and you’ll enjoy 90 minutes of exploring with visibility up to 60 feet.

Trip to ToroVerde Adventure Park

If you’ve ever wanted to go skydiving but wanted a slower experience, try the La Bestia experience at ToroVerde Adventure Park in Puerto Rico. This is one of the world’s longest single-run zip lines and only takes about two minutes to complete. However, you’ll be able to take in plenty of scenery with breathtaking views of the rainforest above the park. The park is also home to more than eight connected zip-lines, a waterfall that’s perfect for rappelling, and five suspension bridges ripe for exploring.

Explore the Underwater Museum in Mexico

The Museo Subacuatico de Arte is the world’s biggest underwater museum and continues to be one of the most popular experiences on Mexico’s Caribbean coast. It’s located a few miles from Cancun in the National Marine Park and features 400 life-sized human figures made out of pH-neutral concrete. You can head here for a diving or snorkeling experience like no other and see some amazing Mayan installations up to 20 feet deep. You’ll find several local marinas that offer boat rides and diving experience to this awe-inspiring museum.
