Downsize Your Itinerary

Spending more time in fewer places will give you a chance to really take in the destination and learn more about the venue in-depth. Instead of jumping from city to city or even country to country during your trip, focus on just one region and spend more time exploring that area. You’ll get more out of the experience and have the opportunity to discover venues that are off the beaten path.

Take a Class

A great way to meet new people and learn about local culture is to take a cooking class, art class or other hands-on class. Look for some local instructors who can teach you a new skill or educate you on something you are interested in.

Get Up Early

While vacation time usually means plenty of rest and relaxation, you don’t want to spend most of your trip inside the hotel room. Plan to get up earlier in the morning so you can explore the city sights and enjoy a good breakfast at an area restaurant. Getting your day started early can make it much easier to keep yourself on track with your schedule and make the most of your travel experience.

Be Flexible

It’s easy to overbook your schedule when visiting a new place and doing so can take away from the travel experience. Be flexible with your schedule so you have some room for free time and exploring things on your own time and at your pace. Booking too many guided tours or activities for you and your traveling party will make it difficult to enjoy the trip fully and indulge in your adventurous side.
